It is important that you raise your claim as soon as possible.

 

What should I do in the event of a motor vehicle accident?

 

STEP 1 

Make sure the scene is safe

Call 000 if someone is injured

and for emergency services assistance

 

STEP 2

Provide your details to the other driver/s involved

Do not admit liability

 

STEP 3

Obtain all appropriate information: Info on other vehicle, other driver, date/time, weather conditions, road conditions, location and any other notes that will assist the claim.

Check the other driver’s license and registration to confirm the information is correct.

 

STEP 4

Find any witnesses and obtain their version of events and draw a diagram of the accident.

 

STEP 5

If you are unable to drive your vehicle safely, arrange for it to be towed (this can be arranged by your insurance provider if you have Accident Assist included in your policy)

 

STEP 6

Lodge your insurance claim ASAP or contact us if you require any assistance
